Is it time to Go Green?

Is it time to Go Green?

Go Green loans available now

The government have recently announced the SEAI Residential Retrofit Scheme. This will provide grants for anyone wishing to upgrade their homes to make them more energy efficient and sustainable. This will also save your money on your utility bills in the longer term.

Lucan District Credit Union has a loan specifically for this purpose. Our Go Green loan is at the new reduced rate of 6.95% (APR 7.18%).

This loan is designed for our members who wish to retrofit their homes or purchase a fully electric vehicle. Retrofitting can include installing a PV solar system to generate electricity, wall and attic insulation, installation of thermally efficient windows and doors, new boiler/heating system, underfloor heating, installation of heat pump. You may purchase a car and need to install a charger for it.

By retrofitting your home you will save money on your utility bills and these savings will pay for the work done over a number of years, depending on the work undertaken. You will also increase the value of your home with an improved BER (Building Energy Rating).

Now is your chance to help our environment and reduce your family's carbon footprint.

Even better. You can save money and improve the value of your home while helping the environment. Happy days.

Grants

There are grants available to assist with the costs involved in retro-fitting your home. To find a registered professional contractor and more information about the grants go to www.seai.ie. The contractor will be able to provide a quote and advise on the grants you would be entitled too. They will assist you in applying for the available grants and they will arrange for the revised BER certificate to be issued when the work has been completed.

Terms & Conditions

There are a couple of terms & conditions attached to these loans:

  • Current loans can't be topped up for this rate. This loan must be taken out as a separate loan.
  • A quote must be provided with each loan application showing the work to be undertaken or the car to be purchased.

To find out how much a Go Green loan will cost, please go to our Go Green loan page.
