Third Level Bursary 2026 now open for applications

Application forms for the 2026 Carmel Whelan Memorial Bursary are now available from the Finnstown Office, or from the link here.

The bursary is €4,500 payable over 3 years at €1,500 per year, to help offset college expenses. This is an open competition between all members entering third level for the first time. The course must be a minimum of level 7 (ordinary degree). It will be a straight draw between all applicants and will not depend on academic achievement.

Please read the rules in the application form and ensure that you provide the necessary documentation with the application. You must include details of the course you will be taking (name of the course e.g. BA in Arts), the college you will be attending and proof of place offer from the college showing your name and address.

The closing date for applications is Saturday 10th October 2026, by close of business.
